Sabres goalie coach/ VO’s for Proving Holiness
9/7/2009 7:52:00 PM by Diocese

Proving Holiness is a one-hour documentary about the process of becoming a saint. The documentary examines the rich history of sainthood, reaching back into the earliest days of the Catholic Church, when martyrs were prevalent under the Roman Empire. Daybreak TV Productions brings a myriad of talent to the project, featuring narration by Hollywood star Martin Sheen and a score of local talent brought in for voice-over and music composition.

One of the local personalities to lend a voice to the documentary is Jim Corsi, goalie coach for the Buffalo Sabres. In need of a French-Canadian accent, Daybreak producer Michele Barone turned to Rich Wall, Promotions Manager for the Sabres. He recommended Jim Corsi, who had previous broadcasting experience. Corsi attends mass at St. Margaret’s in Buffalo.

With the exception of Martin Sheen’s narration, all additional voice-over talent is from the WNY area. With Buffalo’s diverse ethnic population, Daybreak found local talent with relative ease.

Proving Holiness focuses on four historical figures: Msgr. Nelson Baker, Archbishop Oscar Romero, Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, and St. Faustina. Daybreak TV Productions plans on a November premiere.
